About Us

Hey! We’re Meg & Kristin — The Ski Ladies!

We’re two ladies who love to ski and snowboard, have fun, and spend as much time as possible on the mountain. We started The Ski Ladies because we know how expensive getting the whole family geared up can be — and we don’t think that should keep anyone from having a good time.

Our goal is simple: affordable gear, less hassle, and more time on the mountain!

Whether you’re a little one just learning to ski, a seasoned snowboarder, or somewhere in between, we want to help get you geared up and out there making memories. Because skiing isn’t just about the gear — it’s about the laughs, the fresh snow, the family time, and having a whole lot of FUN!

So grab your gear, grab your people, and let’s hit the mountain!

A Deeper Look

Meg's Bio:

My parents had me on skis not long after I could walk, so the mountains have always been a big part of my life. When I was 15, I decided to teach myself how to snowboard, which mostly meant learning how to fall down the mountain! Once I finally got the hang of it, I didn’t want to get off the mountain, I was hooked.

Over the years, I started teaching family and friends how to ski and snowboard, partly because I loved teaching and partly because I wanted more powder buddies! Eventually, I took a job as a snowboard instructor and spent several years teaching. One of my favorite things about teaching, is watching someone go from “I can't do this” to suddenly getting it. Seeing their face light up when it clicks never gets old.

One of my favorite memories happened just a couple seasons ago when I took my baby bro up the mountain. He hadn’t been riding in a few years, but he was feeling pretty confident and wanted to hit the terrain park. I told him I was too old for the rails, falling hurts a lot more now that I'm "old" and he's still in his 20s so have it. I gave him a few pointers and sent him on his way with one very important instruction: “Don’t get hurt. Mom will kill me.”

His big moment, his first rail, ended with him on the ground, a few minor-ish injuries and a bruised ego. We looked at each other and without missing a beat we both said, “Don’t tell Mom.” I guess some things never change.

For me, skiing and snowboarding have always been about more than just getting down the mountain. It’s about having fun, making memories, and sharing that feeling with the people around you.

Kristin's Bio:

Growing up, sports were never on my radar and I definitely didn't grow up playing on the mountain. When I met Meg, she had the patience and determination to teach a 34 year old how to snowboard. It did not come naturally for me, but I didn't give up even though I rolled down the mountain for the first few seasons.

One of my favorite memories is when Meg told me she'd watch over me from the powder while I rode the groomed trail. Her and her brother were cruising along and spraying powder, which looked really fun, so I decided to follow without them knowing. It was intimidating at first, so I told myself that I HAD to keep up since she didn't know where I was now.  All I could think was, don't sink in the powder, don't sink in the powder!

She finally came to a stop with a worried look on her face as she was scanning the groomed trail. She looked over at her brother, then saw me a few feet from him as I was pretending to look for me too. The look on her face made it all worth it, she was shocked and proud that I was finally keeping up.

Cheers to riding with the big boys, and fingers crossed for a great upcoming season!
